Franciscus Vermeer, MSc, PgC (born September 18, 1987 in The Netherlands) is a Cross-Cultural HR Consultant. He knows what it is to be an expat himself and faced the same challenges. His extensive education and experience will help you move forward.
Early life and education
Franciscus Vermeer was born in Tilburg, The Netherlands. He received a bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of Tilburg in 2010, where he was also doing a board year at Integrand Tilburg, which connects students to companies through internships. There he fulfilled the role as HR Manager. He then earned a Master degree in Strategic management from the same University in 2012, and a PgC in International Relations from the Queen Mary University of London in 2023.
In 2024, Franciscus Vermeer achieved the extraordinary status of Hyperpolyglot after a lifelong of language learning, he is a person that is able to understand 7 languages (Dutch, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German & Turkish). His motivation has always been to be able to dive into different cultures around the world to see how they perceive the world that they live in. He also studied Ancient Greek at the Oxford University, continuous education, and has a strong interest in the humanities from the ancient world. He is excited to share his passion for languages with the rest of the world.
Career
From 2012 until 2024, Franciscus Vermeer worked in 6 different countries (The Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Morocco and Angola) in the human resources for multinationals. He had a variety of roles such as an International recruiter, HR Coach in soft skills, HR Advisor, Global HR Analyst & Cross-Cultural HR Consultant.
During his international career he founded his own company as a Cross-Cultural Consultant for Expats. His main areas of expertise are Executive & Career development, Coaching, Language learning and Cross-cultural psychology. He has established himself as a reliable partner for executive expats, due to his unique combination of skills in Psychology, Business, Languages & International relations.
Personal Life
Franciscus Vermeer is a strong advocate of practising physical fitness training throughout his life and believes that mental health as well as physical health both walk hand in hand to become your optimal self. He likes to dedicate himself to the fine arts of sculpting and believes that clay, just as life, can be sculptured into something beautiful. He also truly enjoys coffee and mentions often that a day without coffee is a day not lived.
Franciscus Vermeer currently lives in Brussels, Belgium with his wife Yara Vermeer. They met while he was living in Lisbon, Portugal and she was studying at the time to become a Civil Engineer at the University Lusofona. She is originally from Luanda, Angola. They have a son, Aurelius Vermeer, and a daughter, Alexandria Vermeer together. He also has a brother, Johannes Vermeer, who is a Geo-Archeologist and lives in Germany with his wife and 2 children. His parents had their own business in wedding suits for men to make their day unforgettable. They are now retired.
